Outline of the vessel in which the Ambient air / Seawater monitoring is installed.
In 1995, the greenhouse effect gas monitoring at Pacific Ocean, South-North / Atlantic Ocean, was begun by (Japanese) Independent Administration Institution, National Institute for Environmental Studies. For this monitoring, big vessels like as Container liner or car carrier, of regular lines are being used. These vessel liners have been run every from 1 to 1.5 months period. The Ambient air monitoring is being done at the Japan-Australia line, and the ambient air / seawater monitoring is being done at the Japan -North America line.
Kimoto Electric Co., Ltd was related to develop the ambient air/ seawater monitoring system from the beginning of this project, and we have repeated the improvement of these devices of the system for the high performance, automation and safe operation. Now even crews can do daily maintenance of the system. So the periodical maintenance by us is done only at Japanese port.

Monitoring System
Each monitoring devices which is set at the ambient air monitoring room and the sea water monitoring room are connected by the LAN network. Each data with GPS standard time is stored to the data server at the ambient air monitoring room. In the display client, all data change with time, current data and the ship route by the current time, so it is possible to check each conditions of all devices. And more, it is done by only one click to start the measuring and the data logging.

Concentration of CO
2 and O
3 in the ambient air, GPS and some meteorological items are measuring continuously and the ambient air is sampled. The ambient air sampled from the sampling point where is not effected by the exhaust gas from the ship is lead to the ambient air monitoring system.

Seawater monitoring
At the seawater monitoring room, the continuous measuring of concentration of partial pressure by CO
2 gas in the seawater, water temperature, salinity, pH, chlorophyll is done. The concentration of CO
2 gas in the seawater water is measured by our ambient air /seawater CO
2 measuring system, MOG-501 and flow through and Tandem type gas-liquid balancer, Eq-501, and the field back system are used. Sample water is introduced to the seawater monitoring room from the vessel bottom by the sampling water pump.
